Induction:

Find a comfortable position, whether you’re sitting or lying down. Close your eyes if you wish, and begin to focus on your breathing. With each breath in, imagine you’re drawing in calmness and peace. With each breath out, release any tension or stress.

Imagine you’re at the top of a beautiful, gentle staircase. There are ten steps, each one leading you further into relaxation. Begin to descend these steps, counting backward from ten to one. With each step, you feel more relaxed, more at peace.

Ten… You feel your body starting to relax.
Nine… Your shoulders drop, releasing the weight of the day.
Eight… Your arms feel heavy, comfortable, safe.
Seven… Your breathing deepens, each breath soothing your mind.
Six… Your legs relax, feeling grounded and secure.
Five… Your mind begins to quiet, thoughts drifting like clouds.
Four… You feel a wave of calm washing over you.
Three… Deeper into relaxation, into peace.
Two… Almost there, feeling lighter, freer.
One… You are now in a state of deep, profound relaxation.

Deepening:

Imagine you’re walking into a serene, lush forest. The air is fresh, filled with the scents of nature. The sounds of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves create a melody of tranquility. As you walk, you notice a path leading to a clearing where light filters through the canopy, creating patterns on the ground.

This light represents healing and peace, warming you, filling you with a sense of security and calm. Each step you take on this path leaves behind a piece of your anxiety, your depression, dissipating into the ground, no longer holding you back.

Suggestion Phase:

In this clearing, you find a pond, crystal clear, reflecting the sky above. As you look into the water, you see your reflection, but it’s not just you; it’s the calm, confident, joyful version of yourself.

Now, you will take three deep breaths:

  • With the first breath, imagine all your anxiety being absorbed by the water, dissolving away. Feel the weight lifting from your chest.
  • With the second breath, let all feelings of depression flow out of you into the pond, watching as it becomes part of the earth, transforming into something beautiful, like new life for the plants around.
  • With the third breath, inhale peace, confidence, and joy. Feel these positive energies filling the spaces where anxiety and depression once resided.

You are not your anxiety or depression. These are merely clouds passing through the vast sky of your mind. You are in control. You have the power to see them for what they are – temporary, not defining who you are.

Affirmations:

Repeat silently to yourself:

  • “I am calm, I am at peace.”
  • “Each day, I grow stronger and happier.”
  • “I release anxiety and depression; I welcome peace and joy.”

Emergence:

Now, you begin to return from the forest. As you walk back, you feel lighter, more at ease. You’re ascending the staircase again, this time counting from one to ten. With each step, you bring back the calm, the peace, the strength:

One… Starting to feel more awake.

Induction:

Find a comfortable spot where you can relax completely. You may choose to close your eyes or keep them softly focused. Begin to focus on your breath. With each inhale, imagine you’re breathing in confidence, and with each exhale, you’re letting go of any doubt or insecurity.

Imagine you’re standing at the edge of a beautiful, tranquil beach. The sand is soft under your feet, the sea whispers peace, and the sun warms you with its gentle rays. As you walk along the shore, you find a path of shimmering stones. These stones represent steps towards greater self-esteem and confidence.

Count down from ten as you step on each stone, feeling more relaxed and open to positive change with each step:

Ten… You feel safe and at ease.
Nine… Your body begins to relax deeply.
Eight… Your thoughts calm, like the quiet sea.
Seven… Each muscle in your body lets go of tension.
Six… Your mind opens to new possibilities.
Five… You feel a warm glow of self-acceptance.
Four… Confidence begins to build within you.
Three… You’re at peace with who you are.
Two… Your inner strength is growing.
One… You are now in a state of deep, positive relaxation.

Deepening:

As you continue along the beach, you find a beautiful, inviting shell. When you pick it up, it feels like it holds a message just for you. With each breath, you feel this shell radiating confidence into your core.

Suggestion Phase:

Now, imagine there’s a mirror in front of you, not just any mirror, but one that reflects your true self – your strengths, your personality, your worth.

See yourself:

  • Standing tall, with pride in your posture.
  • Your eyes shining with self-assurance.
  • A smile that speaks of self-acceptance.

As you look into this mirror, repeat these affirmations:

  • “I am worthy, I am capable.”
  • “I trust in my abilities and decisions.”
  • “I am confident in who I am and what I bring to the world.”
  • “Every day, I grow stronger in my self-esteem.”

Feel these affirmations sinking into your subconscious, becoming part of your belief system, your reality.

Visualization for Confidence:

Now, visualize a scenario where you need confidence. Perhaps it’s a presentation, a conversation, or a new challenge. See yourself in this scenario:

  • You’re speaking clearly, confidently.
  • Others respond positively, respecting your words and presence.
  • You handle the situation with grace, intelligence, and self-assuredness.

Each time you face such a scenario in real life, this image will flash in your mind, reminding you of your inherent confidence.

Affirmations Reinforcement:

Repeat once more:

Emergence:

Now, you start to leave the beach, feeling the sand under your feet, the sun on your skin, carrying with you this new sense of self. You ascend the path of stones back to your starting point, counting from one to ten:

One… Beginning to feel more alert.
Two… Bringing back this confidence.
Three… Your body starts to awaken.
Four… Your mind is clear, filled with positive thoughts.
Five… You’re feeling more energized.
Six… Confidence is now a part of you.
Seven… You’re ready to embrace the day with self-esteem.
Eight… Your senses are coming back.
Nine… You’re almost fully awake, feeling empowered.
Ten… Fully awake, feeling confident, strong, and ready to face anything with a newfound self-esteem.

Post-Hypnotic Suggestion:

Whenever you face a moment where you need confidence, remember this beach, this mirror, these affirmations. Each time, you’ll find it easier to access this inner reservoir of confidence and self-esteem.
